Founded with the aim of complementing Torino Film Festival with a laboratory dedicated to emerging filmmakers, TorinoFilmLab is an international scheme supporting young talents from all over the world through training, development and funding and distribution activities. The main focus is on first and second feature films.

Created in 2008 thanks to the support of the Italian Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities, the Piedmont Region and the City of Turin, TorinoFilmLab is promoted by Museo Nazionale del Cinema and Film Commission Torino Piemonte. Many of the scheme?s activities are backed by the creative Europe - MEDIA Programme of the European Union.

Each of the programmes incorporates several residential workshops and on-line sessions, run parallel along the year and reach their conclusion in November at the TorinoFilmLab Meeting Event, during the Torino Film Festival.

This co-production market, involving over 250 among scriptwriters, directors, producers, sales agents, distributors and other industry professionals from all around the world, comprises a public pitch of the projects developed within the lab, as well as an awards ceremony: in this occasion a Jury assigns various awards to support the production and distribution of the best projects.
