Presentation of the book La suspense. Forme e modelli della tensione cinematografica by Giampiero Frasca, with the author attending.

Library/Mediatheque – 10 December 2015, 6.00 p.m. – Events Room

The National Cinema Museum presents a meeting at the Library/Mediatheque dedicated to suspense, during which the book La suspense. Forme e modelli della tensione cinematografica (Suspense. Forms and models in filmic tension) by Giampiero Frasca, Dino Audino Editore 2015, will be presented.

Suspense is commonly thought of as the tension which characterises the facts within certain determinate genres, often with criminal topics, such as thrillers, mysteries or spy stories. In reality, it features a complex and transversal narrative process which covers a much wider spectrum, placing itself conceptually halfway between an emotional effect triggered in the public and the uncertainty artfully created within a story.

The author will be in conversation with Silvio Alovisio (Turin University).
