- FROM FRIDAY 14 OCTOBER TO TUESDAY 18 OCTOBER – SCREEN THREE

The National Cinema Museum pays tribute to John le Carré with its festival entitled L’AGENTE SEGRETO (THE SECRET AGENT): John le Carré in film. To mark the occasion, there will be the Italian premiere of Tomas Alfredson’s film, La talpa (Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy), based on Le Carré’s novel.

Coinciding with a convention on John le Carré, organised by the University of Turin’s Foreign Languages and Literature department, to mark the great British writer’s 80th birthday, the National Cinema Museum presents the festival entitled L’AGENTE SEGRETO (THE SECRET AGENT): John le Carré in film which includes seven feature films made between the 1960s and 2000, starting with his most successful works.

On Friday, 14 October at 8.45 p.m. there will be the Italian premiere of Tomas Alfredson’s film La talpa (Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy). Admission: 5.50/4.00/3.00. The screening will be introduced by Paolo Bertinetti, Emanuela Martini and Gianni Volpi.

The National Cinema Museum presents Bansky’s Exit Through the Gift Shop, the first catastrophic documentary on Street Art, for NON FICTION.

 The National Cinema Museum presents Bansky’s Exit Through the Gift Shop, for its NON FICTION series, the first catastrophic documentary on Street Art. The screening will take place on Monday, 17 October 2011 at 8.45 p.m. and 10.30 p.m. in Cinema Massimo’s Screen Three. Admission: 5.50/4.00/3.00 euros.

A behind-the-scenes view of Street Art, a brutal and revealing account of what happens when fame, money and vandalism meet. Exit Through the Gift Shop follows the tale of Thierry Guetta, an eccentric shopkeeper selling clothing for young people and an aspiring graffiti artist, turned film director in order to record the work of the world’s most infamous vandals.

The National Cinema Museum presents Roman Polanski’s Knife in the Water for MAGNIFICHE VISIONI (MAGNIFICENT VISIONS): the Permanent Festival of Restored Film.

On Tuesday, 18 October 2011 at 8.45 p.m. in Cinema Massimo’s Screen Three, the National Cinema Museum presents Roman Polanski’s film Il coltello nell’acqua (Knife in the Water), screening a digital restoration distributed by Hollywood Classics. The film will also be shown on 19 October at 4 p.m. Admission: 5.50/4.00/3.00 euros. The film is one of the many events scheduled in the new and exciting season of MAGNIFICHE VISIONI (MAGNIFICENT VISIONS): The Permanent Festival of Restored Film.

The National Cinema Museum presents the Italian premiere of Fabrice Gobert’s film Simon Werner a disparu... (Lights Out) for CROSSROADS, with soundtrack by Sonic Youth. Introduced by Umberto Mosca, the Artistic Director of MyGeneration.

 The National Cinema Museum presents Fabrice Gobert’s film, Simon Werner a disparu... (Lights Out) for the first time in Italy, as part of CROSSROADS, with soundtrack by Sonic Youth. The premiere will be on Wednesday, 19 October 2011 at 8.30 p.m. and again at 10.30 p.m. in Cinema Massimo’s Screen Three. The 8.30 p.m. screening will be introduced by Umberto Mosca, the artistic director of MyGeneration. Admission: 3 euros.
