For PLANET AFRICA, rendez-vous dedicated to the birth of cinema in Senegal.

Cinema Massimo – 28 January 2015, 8.45 p.m. - Screen Three

The first date this year for PLANET AFRICA is dedicated to the birth of cinema in Senegal: a cinematography among the most aware about the history of African cinema, which is poetic and political in a clear-cut and intimate way. The evening is organised as is usual, with the collaboration of the African Studies Centre in Turin. The evening’s protagonists are two masters like Ousmane Sembene and Djibril Diop Mambéty.

The first author’s debut masterpiece, Borom Sarret, will be screened. An illuminating work by the second author, Touki bouki, also a debut film, will then follow. The films will be introduced by Cecilia Pennacini. Admission 3.00 euro.
