Live soundtrack performance for Giovanni Pastrone’s film Il fuoco, played by Iranian musician Alireza Mortazavi. Book presentation by Silvio Alovisio before the screening.
The project to enhance the Museum Film Archive heritage is continuing at the Library/Mediatheque, through soundtrack creations by ensembles, orchestras or single musicians from various trends, ages and origins, for the most important National Cinema Museum restorations.
This week, Il fuoco (Fire) by Giovanni Pastrone (1915), will come to life again at the Library/Mediatheque during an extraordinary live music evening with Iranian musician Alireza Mortazavi, a virtuoso of santur and also known to the Italian public for his collaboration with Franco Battiato, who will accompany Pina Menichelli and Febo Mari’s love and passion adventures with a surprising and innovative soundtrack.
The screening will follow the presentation of the book Giovanni Pastrone. I sogni della ragione (Giovanni Pastrone. The dreams of reason) by Silvio Alovisio, Fondazione Ente dello Spettacolo, 2015.
The author will be in conversation with Claudia Gianetto, Stella Dagna (NCM) and Giulia Carluccio (Turin University).
