This year the National Cinema Museum is taking part once again in LANDS OVER THE SEA 3 – Welcoming us.
Wars, deaths, shipwrecks, murders, landings, walls and terrorism are the stories which invade our lives most frequently. The third edition of Lands over the Sea wishes to propose new stories, it wants to place the faces, the stories, hopes and suffering at the centre, as well as the abilities and the cultural wealth brought by the people who arrive in our country.
This year's event, with directed by Claudio Montagna and the involvement of associations, artists, experts and Italian and foreign volunteers, will explore the meaning of the word welcome as a need, but also as a practice for rebuilding relationships, in which rights, competence and dignity will be recognised for everyone.
This initiative, born within the NOMiS Project promoted by the Compagnia di San Paolo and implemented by Gruppo Abele, with the collaboration of the National Cinema Museum and patronage from the Piedmont Region, City of Turin, Circoscrizione 3, Torre Canavese Municipality, will be dedicated to the testimony and to proposals for a reciprocal welcoming attitude by means of a display of figurative pieces, songs, stories, lectures, discussions, dances, rituals, videos and movies.
