Blow-Up by Michelangelo Antonioni for the Rediscovered Cinema at the Cinema showcase in October.
Cinema Massimo – From 2 to 31 October 2017 – Screen Three
The Rediscovered Cinema at the Cinema showcase, the Bologna Film Archive Foundation project which is bringing back great classics and cult movies from the history of film to the big screen, in a restored version, is continuing in October with a real cult. Antonioni wrote: “Blow-up is a play without an epilogue, comparable to those 1920s stories where Scott Fitzgerald manifested his disgust for life. During its making, I hoped nobody could say: Blow-up is a typically Anglosaxon work. Originally, the story of Blow-up should have been set in Italy, but I realised at once that it would have been impossible to locate the event in any Italian city”. Admission 7.50/5.00 euro.

Michelangelo Antonioni
Blow-Up
(Great Britain/Italy 1966, 111’, DCP, col., o.v. it. s/t)
London, a fashion photographer believes he has seen (and photographed) a murder. He tries to reach the solution to the mystery, but is unsuccessful. Reality has many faces, and even evidence, even an image impressed on a plate can be denied. The film begins as a "mystery" but soon turns out to be a fascinating meditation on a sofa (admitting there is one) between reality and imagination.
