In conjunction with MiTo Settembre Musica, the National Cinema Museum presents Stearica vs Der Golem at Cinema Massimo.

Cinema Massimo – 8 September 2011, at 9 p.m., Screen One

On Thursday, 8 September at 9 p.m. in Cinema Massimo’s Screen One, the National Cinema Museum will present its usual end-of-summer event for MiTo Settembre Musica. This year, the Turin-based band Stearica will be the ones to face the challenge of a classic of European silent film and this time they will create a soundtrack for the German feature film Der Golem, by Paul Wegener and Carl Boese. Admission free.

The group has spent more than ten years touring Europe alongside legends from the independent scene such as Nomeansno, GirlsAgainstBoys, Damo Suzuki, The Ex, Karate, Acid Mothers Temple and Tarentel, and its past is made up of international partnerships of the calibre of Dälek (Ipecac), Amy Denio (Fred Frith, Derek Bailey), Jessica Lurie (Bill Frisell, Nels Cline) and Nick Storring (Damo Suzuki network, Picastro). This is the CV of the famous Turin trio starring Davide Campagnoni (drums, percussion, objects), Francesco Carlucci (guitars, keyboards) and Luca Paiardi (bass guitar, keyboards, objects), who recently performed to much acclaim at the Primavera Sound Festival in Barcelona and on the main stage at Traffic in Turin last July.

The performance has been organised by the Traffic Free Festival in partnership with the National Cinema Museum.
