THE GAME OF CHANCE retrospective. Robert Bresson’s cinema.
The National Cinema Museum is organising an integral retrospective – from 3 to 28 April 2015 at the Cinema Massimo – dedicated to director Robert Bresson. Among the protagonists of the renaissance of French cinema after the second world war, Robert Bresson is a director who is lucid and radical in analysing an individual’s ethical condition. His favourite themes are grace, solitude, faith, as opposed to modernity, described as being violent and brutal. All of this, with an essential, dry, almost documentary-style view, but a strong emotional impact.
The game of chance showcase will open on Friday 3 April at 4.30 p.m., with the screening of the French director’s first feature film: Les anges du péché (Angels of sin) (France 1943, 96’, 35mm, b/w, o. v. it. s/t). Admission 6.00/4.00/3.00 euro.
