One hundred years from his birth and thirty from his death, the National Cinema Museum renders tribute to the genius of Orson Welles.

Cinema Massimo – from 19 October to 1st November 2015 - Screen Three

For the occasion of the centenary of his birth and thirty years from his death, the National Cinema Museum is presenting The Master. Tribute to Orson Welles, a broad tribute to one of the great masters of the history of film at the Cinema Massimo, organised in collaboration with Turin University.

This tribute will be inaugurated on Monday 19 October at 8.30 p.m. by the short film The merchant of Venice, which was presented in a world premiere at the recent Venice Film Festival. Deemed to be lost, the film has been reconstructed thanks to new material retrieved by Cinemazero in Pordenone and restored with the support of the Munich FilmMuseum in Bavaria. Admission 6.00/4.00/3.00 euro.

The tribute to Welles will be rounded off by the films Citizen Kane, Touch of evil and Mr. Arkadin, which will be screened in a restored version at the 33rd Torino Film Festival (20-28 November 2015) in the “Festa Mobile” section.
