The new HISTORY OF DOCUMENTARY FILM. Between cinema and anthropology showcase is in pole position, with Nanook of the North by Robert Flaherty.

The National Cinema Museum and Turin University are inaugurating a showcase titled HISTORY OF DOCUMENTARY FILM. Between cinema and anthropology which will continue, with two monthly dates, until January 2016.

This showcase, which will dedicate ample space to the great classics in documentary films, is organised with the chairs of Visual Anthropology (Department of Cultures, Politics and Society) and of Documentary Cinema History (Humanities Department of Turin University) and the screenings will be introduced by professors Cecilia Pennacini and Franco Prono.

Two screenings are featured for November: Nanook of the North by Robert Flaherty, on Tuesday 10 at 6.00 p.m. and Chelovek s kino-apparatom (The man with a camera) by Dziga Vertov, on Tuesday 17 at 6.00 p.m. Admission 4 euro (3 euro for university students).
