Cinema Massimo – 13 March 2018, 9.00 p.m. – Screen Three
The events connected to the SoundFrames. Cinema and music on show exhibition, which may be viewed throughout 2018, are continuing at the Cinema Massimo. For this occasion, an evening dedicated to percussionist, composer, writer, artist, performer and musical ethnologist Z'EV, by Larsen, a Turin cult band who were great friends and collaborators of this recently passed-on artist, will be held on Tuesday 13 March, at 9.00 p.m., at Screen Three in the Cinema Massimo.
Born in 1951 in Los Angeles, Z'EV created the musical style that distinguished him in the Seventies, recycling or making percussions out of industrial waste material. In 2009 Larsen & Z'EV give birth to the In V.Tro project. The artist passed away on 16 December following a long illness and further complications arising after a railway accident.
The evening performance, based on Z'EV’s poetical texts and musical and cabalistic theories, is thought out as an ideal continuation of that extraordinary collaboration. Prior to the live show, there will be the Italian premiere screening of the Heart Beat Ear Drum, a film about Z'EV documentary by director Ellen Zweig as well as the presentation of the album by Marco ‘The Ox’ Schiavo (the Larsen drummer/percussionist) and Z'EV, by Escape From Today Records.
Admission 8 euro. The evening proceeds will be devolved, minus organising costs, to Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF).
