Charley Thompson
(Great Britain, 2017, 121’)
Aged 15, Charley Thompson dreams of having a more stable life: a home, someone preparing meals for him, not having to change schools continually and having the possibility of making friends. To sum it up, a normal life. But living with a single father, Ray, a workman who is not only specialised in his job but also in getting into trouble, normality seems a real chimera. And everything seems to go even worse, when father and son move to Portland, in Oregon, hoping in a new start. Feeling more lonely than ever, one day Charley decides the moment has arrived to get a grip on his life and to search for a better future on his own. Thus, with his only friend, an old racehorse called Lean on Pete, he begins a journey through deepest America...
