Summer 2020 at the National Museum of Cinema

From the 1 to 31 August 2020 the National Museum of Cinema will be open again every day (except every Tuesday we remain closed) from 10-7 pm. 

The Panoramic Lift in the Mole Antonelliana will re-open on Friday 24 July, and it will be open on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays  from 10-7 pm until the 31 July.  From the 1 to 31 August, it will follow the same opening hours as the Museum. Both the Museum and the Panoramic Lift will be open as usual on Saturday 15 August (Ferragosto), from 10-7 pm.

For the whole month of August, a special promotion will apply: for each purchased ticket to the museum, you will receive a voucher for another entry, when visiting the museum with a paying visitor. It is valid from the day after the purchase up to the 31 December 2020. 

Throughout this period, alongside the rich permanent collection, visitors will be able to see the exhibition cinemaddosso Annamode’s costumes from Cinecittà to Hollywood, curated by Elisabetta Bruscolini.

The exhibition of Annamode’s sartorial creations demonstrate her talent, creativity and expert craftsmanship. Since the 1950s, her relentless and passionate costume creation brought international fame to Italian costumiers. A homage to the knowledge, precision, art and handicraft in a world of skill, love and passion. A world that the Allegri sisters have represented and that our costume houses and talented costume designers share with great stylists, contributing to the success of the ‘Made in Italy´ brand. On display, in a visionary exhibition itinerary, the most significant “works” of the costume house from the Dolce Vita years to the present day and costumes realised for international productions.

Until the 31 August, in the Temple Hall, below the large screen and the Chapelle of Caffè Torino, visitors will be able to admire the exhibit I disegni della Mole (Drawings of the Mole) by Peter Greenaway, a display of 92 drawings of the Mole Antonelliana realised over the years by the Welsh artist, considered as one of the greatest contemporary British filmmakers. During Summer, Cinema Massimo will be closed to the public from Tuesday 21 July to Wednesday 26 August 2019 included.
