Walter Salles’s The Motorcycle Diaries screened during the L’UOMO CON LA VALIGIA (THE MAN WITH THE SUITCASE) festival.

The last event in our L’UOMO CON LA VALIGIA (THE MAN WITH THE SUITCASE) festival is a screening of Walter Salles’s The Motorcycle Diaries. The film tells the story of a friendship, a voyage and, most of all, a growing awareness. The journey – both a physical as well as an emotional one – is not only a chance to depict the face of an entire exploited country, with men and women unable to improve their lot, crushed by the weight of centuries of oppression. Alberto and Ernesto’s voyage – Ernesto, the future “Che” Guevara – becomes, in this way, a time of growth and new understanding and will profoundly change them, drastically influencing their future choices.
