Opening night for MyGeneration dedicated to American video-artist Spike Jonze

 

For the monthly date with CROSSROADS and within the programme of events for the 6th edition of MyGeneration, the National Cinema Museum will host the inaugural evening dedicated to American artist Spike Jonze, who has been experimenting for twenty years with visual languages bordering between music videos, adverts and fiction films, Saturday 27 October at 8.30 p.m., on Screen Three at the Cinema Massimo. Admission: 3 euro.

AUTEUR SHORTS: 2012 International Animation Day and Cartoon d’Or

 

For AUTEUR SHORTS and on the occasion of the 2012 International Animation Day–celebrated with a series of concurrent initiatives in Italy and worldwide – the National Cinema Museum and ASIFA Italia – the Italian branch of the Association Internationale du Film d’Animation, affiliated with UNESCO – will present screenings by the five 2012 Cartoon d’Or finalists, the most prestigious prize awarded in Europe to animation short films, Sunday 28 October 2012 at 8.30 p.m., on Screen Three at the Cinema Massimo. Admission: 3 euro.

La montagna di Nietzsche. In viaggio con Gianni Vattimo by Erion Kadilli, attending the cinema with the Turin philosopher

 

The National Cinema Museum Association presents the Turin premiere of Italo-Albanian filmmaker Erion Kadilli’s third film, titled La montagna di Nietzsche. In viaggio con Gianni Vattimo (Nietzsche’s mountain. Travels with Gianni Vattimo), attending the cinema together with the young author for a talk with the public and to introduce the screening of Le fantôme de la liberté (The phantom of liberty) by Luis Buñuel, an ironical and brilliant reflection on society and especially on the world of entertainment, Monday 29 October 2012 at 8.45 p.m., on Screen Three at the Cinema Massimo. Admission: 3 euro.

For MAGNIFICENT VISIONS: The Permanent Festival of Restored Film, the National Cinema Museum presents the Rocky Horror Picture Show by Jim Sharman, in the HD digital restoration carried out by 20th Century Fox, Tuesday 30 October 2012 at 8.30 and 10.30 p.m., on Screen Three at the Cinema Massimo. Repeat screening Wednesday 31 October, at 4 p.m. Admission: 6.00/4.00/3.00 euro.

The National Cinema Museum and the Turin University Humanities Department present the film screening of Un condamné à mort s'est échappé (A Man Escaped) by Robert Bresson, introduced by Giaime Alonge, on Screen Three at the Cinema Massimo, Wednesday 31 October 2012 at 6.15 p.m. Admission 4 euro (3 euro for university students and over 60s).
