Men against. The cinema of Francesco Rosi

Mole Antonelliana, Torino
16 December 20082 February 2009
Curated by: Alberto Barbera and Lorenzo Codelli

The National Cinema Museum pays tribute to Francesco Rosi with a photographic exhibition, presenting 130 images from the director’s personal archives, which have been purchased by the National Cinema Museum: set and still photos, original posters and unpublished documents such as working sketches that were drawn directly on the pages of the screenplays.
Besides the exhibition, a complete retrospective of his films has been organized, a full restoration - carried out in collaboration with the Cineteca Nazionale – of Men Against, and the publication of the invaluable monograph by Michel Ciment, “Dossier Rosi” in an edition that has been greatly updated with respect to the two preceding French editions that were published in 1976 and 1987.
There is also the concomitant presentation of the theatrical production of “Filumena Marturano” directed by Rosi himself, as part of the theatrical season of the Teatro Stabile of Torino.

The exhibit is available to be set up in other locations.
