A screening of Damiano Damiani’s film L’inchiesta (The Inquiry) as part of the ECCE HOMO: The face of Jesus in the history of film festival

Bibliomediateca – 19 April 2010, at 3.30 p.m.

Monday, the 19th of April 2010 sees the latest event in the ECCE HOMO film festival: a screening of Damiano Damiani’s film L’inchiesta (The Inquiry).

Taken from the book by Ennio Flaiano, L’inchiesta is one of Damiano Damiani’s lesser-known films. This film director usually tackles stories that take place in a contemporary setting with a social message. The film combines historic reconstructions with detective work, contrasting Roman pragmatism with the faith of the convert, without taking a stance on either. Damiani recreates Palestine among the rocks of Tunisia and depicts complex and angst-ridden characters, without settling for sketches or iconographic symbols. The excellent cast includes Harvey Keitel, Keith Carradine and Lina Sastri. Introduction by Riccardo Fassone.
