The first event of the series PERFIDA ALBIONE (PERFIDIOUS ALBION: England between irony and bitterness) opens on Monday, 9 May 2011 at 3.30 p.m. in the Bibliomediateca, with a screening of the film A Matter of Life and Death by Michael Powell and Emeric Pressburger. Introduced by Riccardo Fassone.

PERFIDA ALBIONE (PERFIDIOUS ALBION: England between irony and bitterness) is a series of screenings and talks on British film and particularly the bitter-sweet comedies that were often the best examples of that cinematic tradition. The festival, which will feature four outstanding examples of comedies made between 1946 and 1998, will end Monday afternoon events in the Bibliomediateca and has been organised in partnership with the University of Turin’s DAMS college for the performing arts and the Sperduti nel buio film club.
