For CROSSROADS, an auteur rockumentary about Fela Kuti and Nick Cave plus a satellite connection with The Grateful Dead for the band’s fiftieth anniversary.

Cinema Massimo – from 3 to 17 July 2015 – Screen Three

For its final seasonal date, CROSSROADS, the customary zone dedicated to the links between music and images, is trebling its proposals, offering two auteur rockumentaries and a live event. Jane Pollard and Iain Forsyth – the famed English video-artists and filmmakers with an undisputable curriculum (exhibitions at ICA and at the Tate, among the rest) – are documenting/inventing one day in the life of Nick Cave; instead the film on Afro-beat pioneer Fela Kuti will arrive straight from Sundance: its author is Alex Gibney, one of the most important documentary makers of our times. Whilst, regarding the music event of the month, Nexo Digital, the specialist in streaming live events, is bringing the Grateful Dead’s live reunion to Italy as well, twenty years after the demise of their leader Jerry Garcia. Admission 6.00/4.00/3.00 euro for the first two films. Admission 12.00/10.00 euro for the event dedicated to the Grateful Dead.
