The DOC rendez-vous in November is dedicated to the lovely Silvered Water, Syria Self-Portrait by Ossama Mohammed and Wiam Simav Bedirxan.

Cinema Massimo – from 11 to 14 November 2015 - Screen Three

The non-fiction rendez-vous in November will retrieve this beautiful film by Ossama Mohammed and Wiam Simav Bedirxan, Ma'a al-Fidda (Silvered Water, Syria Self-Portrait), from TFF 2014.

One thousand and one image, one thousand and one story, one thousand and one filmmaker. The story of the Syrian revolution, born within the barricades, is told in this film, made only of images shot directly by the revolution participants, a story concerning everyone, multiplying inside our eyes and reforming in every instant. The title mentioning a self-portrait does not lie therefore, because the greater part of what is seen is taken from YouTube, Facebook or filmed by the Kurdish female filmmaker Simav Bedirxan, who moves about a Homs which is a wreck by now, but still resisting. And it does not matter if the contours of what is seen are nor distinct at times.

Admission 6.00/4.00/3.00 euro.
