Showcase SCREENS AND ISLAM
The National Cinema Museum is presenting the showcase titled SCREENS AND ISLAM. Ten films from and about the Arab world from Wednesday 8 to Sunday 26 June at the Cinema Massimo. This showcase is a brainchild of the Centro Studi Cinematografici and has been organised in collaboration with the National Cinema Museum.
The opening evening, on Wednesday 8 June at 8.30 p.m., will also feature a meeting after the screening of I’m Gay and Muslim by Chris Belloni, to delve into the debates on the topic suggested by the book and by the films. Giuseppe Gariazzo and Giancarlo Zappoli, the volume authors, will be in conversation with Iranian Turin resident Hamid Ziarati (author of the novels Salam, maman, Quasi due and Il meccanico delle rose) and the Milan resident and Syrian writer Mohammad Houssam Mouazin (author of the book L’io arabo).
