In anticipation of the new edition of the 2017 Milan Fashion Film Festival, an evening dedicated to Cinema and Fashion, with the screening of the restored "Lo straniero" by Luchino Visconti. Constanza Cavalli Etro, the director of this Milan event, will be star guest. The evening will be presented by Laura Milani, President of National Cinema Museum.

Cinema Massimo – 8 September 2017, 8.30 p.m., Screen Three

Whilst looking forward to the kick-off of the new edition of the Milan Fashion Film Festival, an event dedicated to the links between fashion and cinema, founded and directed by Constanza Cavalli Etro, the Business Cinema National Archive, the Milan Fashion Film Festival, the National Cinema Museum and the National Film Archive are presenting a special evening dedicated to cinema and fashion, structured around the restored print of Lo Straniero by Luchino Visconti, in which a major part was played by the set-costumes created by one of the top undisputed masters of Italian Twentieth century cinema: Oscar recipient Piero Tosi.

Two exceptionally interesting programmes are before the feature film. The first is an overview of caroselli, advertisements and cine-news made between 1962 and 1978 by Nino Cerruti, Marzotto, Facis, Cori and Standa, preserved at the Business Cinema National Archive, with filmmakers such as Luciano Emmer and testimonials ranging from the Quartetto Cetra to Mario Soldati, Renzo Arbore and Gianni Boncompagni. The second is a collation of fashion films purposely selected by the Milan Fashion Film Festival. Fashion films, that is the ultimate bastion of visual communication, are the contemporary expression of the fertile meeting between cinema and fashion. The evening will be presented by Laura Milani, Constanza Cavalli Etro and Elena Testa.

Admission 6.00/4.00 euro.
