Carlo Verdone is inaugurating the More Cinema For All showcase, a cycle of screenings open to everybody, with an audio description for the blind and subtitles for the deaf.

Cinema Massimo – 2 October 2017, 8.30 p.m. – Screen One

On upcoming 2 October in Turin, at 8.30 p.m. at Screen One in the Cinema Massimo, actor Carlo Verdone will inaugurate the More Cinema For All showcase, a cycle of screenings open to everyone, with an audio description for the blind and subtitles for the deaf, taking place at the Cinema Massimo from 2 to 11 October.

This initiative, developed by the National Cinema Museum Association with support from the Compagnia di San Paolo and coordinated by Rosa Canosa, will allow a theatrical cinema experience for the sensorially disabled (the blind and sight-impaired, the deaf, partially deaf and hearing-impaired persons) through accessible screenings which to not intend to be special and “dedicated” events, but an all-round part of normal programming in cinemas, addressing a mixed audience.

Carlo Verdone, together with Vittorio Sclaverani and Rosa Canosa, will meet the More Cinema For All public during the opening evening on Monday 2 October at the Cinema Massimo, presenting his film Borotalco, the first of the nine titles by this Roman filmmaker and actor in the programme, seven of which will also be accessible for persons with sensorial disabilities. Admission 5.00 euro (free for persons with hearing and visual disabilities).

I am very proud of the fact that the National Cinema Museum Association in Turin has selected some of my films - comments Carlo Verdone – for such a praiseworthy and greatly sensitive initiative. In my life I have always worked for the public, for people, and I am filled with joy and pride knowing that everybody, even persons who have a few small difficulties, will be able to watch some of my work. I thank the ‘More Cinema For All’ organisers with all my heart for the generosity and the commitment with which they have created this event.
