Cinema, live music and narration in the Bianco, Ila Rosso and Verdone. The worst Italians always win show.
Library/Mediatheque – 11 December 2017, 8.30 p.m. – Events Room
The National Cinema Museum is presenting, the Bianco, Ila Rosso and Verdone. The worst Italians always win show at the Mario Gromo Library, by author-singer Ila Rosso (voice and guitar), accompanied by Gabriele Montanaro (cello), Sergio Maiandi (bass guitar), Francesco Pezzali (cajon and percussions). Narrator and free performer, Davide Di Rosolini.
This show is organised in collaboration with Amico Harvey Film and Sportkids.
It features a show linking cinema, live music and narration, through four cinema masterpieces describing as many examples of Italians, with few virtues and many vices and defects: Indagine su un cittadino al di sopra di ogni sospetto (Investigation of a Citizen Above Suspicion) with the policeman above the law played by Gian Maria Volontè; Il medico della mutual (Be sick… it’s free) with a career-climbing, opportunist Alberto Sordi; Finché c’è guerra c’è speranza (While there’s war there’s hope) with Sordi this time in the shoes of an arms dealer without any moral scruples; Perdiamoci di vista (Let’s not keep in touch), with cynical and merciless TV anchorman Carlo Verdone. The soundtracks by authors like Ennio Morricone, Piero Piccioni and Lucio Dalla with Stadio, are played here once again by the musicians.
All screenings are admission free until full seating capacity is reached, subject to free membership registration to the Library/Mediatheque and presenting an identity document.
