Within the framework of rendez-vous for the TORINO JAZZ FESTIVAL – at various locations in town from 22 April to 1 May 2016 - presentation of Guido Michelone’s book Il jazz-film. Rapporti tra cinema e musica afroamericana (The jazz-film. Relationships between African-American cinema and music), Arcana 2016.
An absolutely innovative essay, quite unique in Italy, not just for specialists but also for the many lovers of jazz-music and cinema. The author will be in conversation with Stefano Zenni (Torino Jazz Festival Director). Introduced by Fabio Pezzetti Tonion (NCM).
To follow, a musical performance by the DUO SERGIO CHIRICOSTA (trombone) SAVERIO MIELE (double bass) will perform Monk.
