Special evening titled Juxtaposed Memories at the Cinema Massimo, with screenings for the occasion of the National Memorial Day of the Exiles and Foibe.

The National Memorial Day of the Exiles and Foibe, officially celebrated on 10 February, was established in 2004 to keep the memory of one of the Twentieth century tragedies alive: the exodus of about 300,000 Italian refugees due to Istria and Dalmatia passing to Yugoslavia at the end of the Second World War. According to tradition, the Museum is hosting screening organised by the Turin Province Committee of the Venezia Giulia and Dalmatia National Association, the National Business Cinema Archive and the Vera Nocentini Foundation. This year the programme is comparing two “juxtaposed memories”, by screening two Yugoslav propaganda films, in addition to a film on the beauty of the Istrian coastline and two brief documentaries- one of them with drammatic images from the foibe mass gravee.
