CINEMA ON STAGE, the showcase with films between cinema and the theatre, is back, in collaboration with the Colline Torinesi Festival.

Cinema Massimo – 6, 7, 10, 18, 21 June 2014 – Screen Three

The National Cinema Museum is proposing a showcase, in collaboration with the Colline Torinesi Festival, on various dates from 6 to 21 June 2014 on Screen Three at the Cinema Massimo, with films delving into certain themes of shows on the playbill and offering spectators the opportunity of relating to other works by the artists featured in the theatre programme.

 

The showcase will be inaugurated with the screening of Via Castellana Bandiera, the first feature film by the much awarded Sicilian director Emma Dante, who will introduce her work to the attending audience on this occasion, on Friday 6 June, at 6.00 p.m. on Screen Three at the Cinema Massimo.

 

On Saturday 7 June, at 6.00 p.m., it will be possible to attend the screening of Moloch by Aleksandr Sokurov. The film – dedicated to Hitler, Eva Brown and Magda Goebbels –  will be presented to the public by actress Federica Fracassi and filmmaker Renzo Martinelli, the players of the trilogy by Massimo Sgorbani dedicated to the actual “co-stars” of nazism.

 

On Tuesday 10 June, at 6.00 p.m., it will be the turn of actor Valter Malosti, who will introduce the screening of the recent French film Violette by Martin Provost to the public, as a corollary of his research stemming from the short novel by Violette Leduc, Thérèse et Isabelle.

 

While on Wednesday 18 June, at 6.00 p.m., it’s a cinephile rendez-vous, with the screening of Ofelia lontana by Tonino De Bernardi, for the occasion of the reading by Michele Di Mauro from Steven Berkoff. The screening will be introduced by De Bernardi together with the actors Michele Di Mauro and Carlotta Viscovo.

 

The showcase will close on Saturday 21 June at 6.00 p.m.,with the film screening of Der Tod des Empedokles (The death of Empedocles) by Jean Marie Straub and Danièle Huillet inspired by Hölderlin’s poem, like the show by Romeo Castellucci on stage at the festival.
