For its new rendez-vous with BELOVED BY…A trip into American cinema through its masters’ eyes – dedicated to Martin Scorsese’s selection - the National Cinema Museum presents the film screening of The crowd by King Vidor, introduced by Giulia Carluccio and Emanuela Martini and accompanied by maestro Stefano Maccagno live on piano, on Screen Three at the Cinema Massimo, Friday 12 October 2012, at 8.30 p.m. The film screening of Johnny Guitar by Nicholas Ray will follow at 10.30 p.m.

The Story Of Film: An Odyssey by Mark Cousins

The National Cinema Museum will host the screening of the of The Story Of Film: An Odyssey, the documentary by Mark Cousins - produced by Channel 4 and distributed by BIM - dedicated to the history of cinema, also featured at the Moma in New York after its success on television, Tuesday 16 October 2012. The episodes– lasting 62’ each – will run on Screen Two at the Cinema Massimo, at 3.30/5.50/8.10/10.30 p.m. Admission: 5 euro. Concessions: 4 euro for over 60s and university students.

On the occasion of the thirtieth edition of TFF, the National Cinema Museum, the Torino Film Festival and the Turin Goethe-Institut are organising a special rendez -vous with the screening of four episodes of Death Row, the television series on the death penalty created by Werner Herzog, attending the cinema for a dialogue with the Turin public at the end of the screening, on Tuesday 16 October at 8 p.m., on Screen One at the Cinema Massimo. Repeat screening on Monday 22 October, at 4.30 p.m. Admission: 6.00/4.00/3.00 euro.
